Elevator

A cell made by metal goes up and down in a building.

You must get into it if you want to arrive somewhere on another level in the building. Maybe it is not a “must” thing, but many people would rather enter the elevator even though they only need to take five stairs. My friend says, “ If there is a device to send me to somewhere, I would never bother my feet.”

Like many people, you decide to take the elevator. Hit the button, and your journey starts. You watch the numbers blinking on each floor. It might be pretty quick that the door opens. But sometimes you need to wait the entire century and finally the elevator arrive your floor. The door opens. You step in. Once the door closes, press the button, you are cut out from the world outside. The atmosphere is no longer the same. Image you stick your head into a chunk of butter. You no longer hear the nature sound but muddy vibration, with the odd noise from the fan. Your skin looks pale with blue or yellow tone under the lights. In another word: You don’t look like a human being. You are an alien existing in an odd outer space. Some people think that an elevator might be a connection between a real world and unknown world. As you know, the elevator scene is one of popular scenes in a horror movie. A lady enters the elevator alone. From the security camera, you see a long hair girl standing behind the lady (Normally she is in a white dress and hard to see her face.) The door closes, and a scream comes out.

The cell starts moving. You might not descry if it is in a good condition. You look down, check your shoes even though you just shined them this morning; you look up, star at the fan and think how dirty it is; you star at the numbers on the board in front of you. If it is made by metal, you take a good look of each reflection inside the shiny circle, the twisted little images of you.

The door opens .You complete your journey. Across the gap between the cell and real world, you breathe the reality again.
